Sable Ranch Volunteer Program

This program is designed to provide volunteers with a unique experience on an exclusive sable and roan breeding farm. Volunteers will gain knowledge and skills on various topics including those related to game farm management and antelope breeding programs whilst working on a game ranch that does not cater for commercial hunting. Work and research completed by volunteers will be used for the effective running of the farm.

Sable Ranch is a Natural Proclaimed Heritage Site with the South African Natural Heritage Program. The farm contains one of the largest breeding groups of Zambian, Malawian and Zimbabwean sable as well as a large breeding group of roan.

Volunteers partaking in the Sable Ranch Volunteer Program will leave the ranch having a good understanding of what is required in knowledge and skills to run a sustainable breeding farm and reserve.
